Procedure of a pipe in pipe rehabilitation

Preparation

In order to be able to carry out the renovation, important points must be ensured. The pipe to be renovated must first be roughly cleaned completely by machine and not just flushed. All grease and lime residues must be removed in order to obtain an optimal basis for the renovation. This task has to be done by a sewer cleaner, as we do not have the necessary infrastructure to carry out this work.
The pipe is then completely dried using a blower. These preparations are one of the most important conditions for optimal renovation success. In addition, an inventory is recorded by means of a camera before the renovation in order to record the defect or defects (such as holes, cracks, etc.) in the pipe.

Renovation using the pipe-in-pipe method

Once the preparation phase has been completed and the pipe is completely dry, an independent new pipe is created inside the pipe by spraying or applying a synthetic resin (polyurethane resin) and corrosion-resistant plastic using an injection pump. For this process we use a flexible hose system that can be pulled through various degree bends and has a maximum length of 12 meters. The rotating nozzle and the brush attachment at the end of the hose apply the material evenly to the inside of the line.
This process can be repeated several times through the rapid hardening and drying of the material (approx. 5 minutes) until the independent new pipe has a density of two to four millimetres.
During this time it is strictly forbidden to use the water!

Quality assurance

After the renovation has been carried out successfully, a final acceptance test will be carried out. This serves as evidence for evaluation and continuous improvement. The results are important for quality assurance and project documentation. After completion of the newly created pipe, the access to the pipe system is closed again and released for use.
